VEENA NAIR (SHE/HER)
I am Veena Nair, a qualified Clinical Psychologist registered with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI), with over nine years of experience in the mental health field. My training and clinical work, including internships in government hospitals and private practice settings, have provided me with valuable insights into supporting diverse mental health needs.
In my practice, I work with individuals, couples, and families, providing queer-affirmative, trauma-informed, and strength-based therapy. I also facilitate support groups, provide professional supervision (one-on-one and group formats), and conduct workshops and webinars on diverse mental health topics.
Additionally, I collaborate as a consultant clinical psychologist with organizations, where I conduct training sessions and skill-building workshops focused on mental health awareness, resilience, and well-being. I actively create mental health content to promote awareness and reduce stigma in the wider community.

Therapy Approach and Stance
My approach to therapy is grounded in creating a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where clients can openly explore their thoughts, emotions, and life challenges. I believe in a conversational and explorative therapeutic style, encouraging honest dialogue that helps clients understand themselves beyond diagnostic labels.
While my clinical training equips me to address diagnosable mental health concerns, my practice goes beyond diagnosis to focus on the whole person. I emphasize holistic well-being, integrating the intersectional and psychosocial contexts of each individual’s life.
A key pillar of my work is a strength-based stance—affirming and empowering individuals to navigate life’s complexities. As a queer-affirmative therapist, I am deeply committed to fostering an inclusive and compassionate environment, especially for LGBTQ+ individuals.
I also adopt a trauma-informed lens, recognizing how trauma impacts mental health and relationships, and approach it with sensitivity and care. My goal is to ensure every client feels seen, heard, and respected, and supported in their growth journey.
Continuous learning is central to my practice. I regularly engage in supervision and training to refine my skills, broaden my knowledge, and provide informed, ethical, and effective care.
