Therapy Approach and Stance

When it comes to therapy, I truly believe in creating a safe and supportive space for my clients. My therapeutic style is conversational and explorative, encouraging open and honest conversations. I want my clients to feel comfortable expressing themselves and exploring their concerns without judgment. My clinical background helps me address the diagnosable mental health concerns of my clients. At the same time, my practice is rooted in exploring the client's identity beyond their diagnosis, thus emphasizing their holistic wellbeing beyond their diagnostic labels.

One of the cornerstones of my approach is adopting a strength-based stance. I firmly believe in affirming and supporting individuals as they navigate life's challenges. It's important to me that my clients feel empowered and encouraged throughout our therapeutic journey together. As a queer affirmative therapist, I am dedicated to fostering an inclusive and compassionate environment, particularly for LGBTQ+ individuals.

I believe that it is my responsibility to cater to the unique needs of my clients and be inclusive in my practice. My goal is to ensure that everyone feels seen, heard, and respected. I also approach therapy with a trauma-informed lens, acknowledging the impact of trauma on my clients' lives and ensuring that we navigate these aspects with care and sensitivity.

I'm always eager to understand my clients' unique life stressors, which is why I explore the intersectional and psychosocial context of their narratives. I genuinely believe in the power of continuous growth, which is why I regularly participate in supervision and various training sessions to refine my therapeutic techniques and expand my knowledge base. My ultimate focus is on providing the best possible support and guidance to my clients as we work together towards positive growth and well-being.
